Abravanel Hall

Abravanel Hall is one of the biggest concert halls in Utah. It is located in Salt Lake City and is home to the Utah Symphony and is part of the Salt Lake County Center for the Arts. The venue is adjacent to Temple Square and the Salt Palace on South Temple Street and can hold over 2,700 guests.

The venue was first built to be home for the Utah Symphony in 1979 and was named for Maurice Abravanel, a long-time conductor of the Symphony and champion of classical music throughout the state of Utah.

Since its opening, the venue has become renowned for its excellent acoustics. Great care and consideration was placed into the design for the performance space so that the noise of Salt Lake City is kept out and the music on stage is crystal clear. And with the white oak walls and raised paneling, the viewing experience will be as timeless as can be.

Design Notes

And you can’t talk about Abravanel Hall without discussing the interiors.

The original designers were dedicated to the craft of excellence and style. So the stunning interiors and distinctive architecture has several incredible features. These include its gold-leavf covered tiers, balconies, and staircases. Guests will also notice the gorgeous four-story glass lobby boasts an incredible view of Temple Square and the Wasatch Range. The venue is also home to Olympic Tower, a red blown glass sculpture by renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly. And your visit will not be complete unless you take a moment to admire the brass chandeliers decorated with hand-strung Bohemian crystals.

The fun and elegance begins as soon as you enter Abravanel Hall.
